Bebo, the global social network, has signed up Apple iTunes and Pot Noodle as the first in a series of brand partnerships for its new documentary, Meet the Freshers.
The show, which launched last week, is also sponsored by student website The Student Room and Itchy City, the travel guide publishers, and Bebo is currently finalising product placement deals with other brands.
Bebo says that brand collaborations will be "creatively developed" to enhance the series and contribute to the interactive Bebo user experience. Each brand will have a Bebo profile page that will include competitions, and there will also be extracts from Itchy city guides and a link to The Student Room.
Users will also receive 15 free tracks from iTunes if they become a fan of Meet the Freshers on Bebo.
Mark Charkin, vice-president of sales at Bebo, says that brands are increasingly looking for new ways to get involved in online, and to engage consumers innew ways.
Bebo says that Meet The Freshers will attempt to "find out whether freshers are studying hard; eating fine cuisine or scrounging junk food; what mad, crazy, illegal stuff they get up to; and whether late-night, booze-fuelled parties really do happen."

One in 15 internet visits in the UK are now to one of the top five Web 2.0 sites, new research has revealed.

The favourite Web 2.0 websites in June 2008 were Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, YouTube and Wikipedia, the survey by Hitwise showed.

Of social networking websites, Facebook has extended its lead, now making up 45 per cent of the market share and well ahead of Bebo - with 25 per cent of market share - and Myspace - with almost 15 per cent, according to the consultancy.

He said that the most effective marketing campaigns on such sites encourage interaction with consumers and involve the audience.

Hitwise also found that Windows Live Spaces, Friends Reunited, Club Penguin, Yahoo! Groups and other social networking sites all have less than two per cent of the UK market share.

Jeremiah Owyang, a marketing analyst, writing on his Web Strategy by Jeremiah blog, said that advertising through social networking websites can be particularly effective because relationships between users are based on trust, there is a lot of buzz around this kind of media, and it is used by large numbers of people.

He said that the most effective marketing campaigns on such sites encourage interaction with consumers and involve the audience.

Hello All,

I know we have been a bit inactive for a few weeks.Please forgive us for not sending any updates and as a token of our good will , we will be running the proxy without any ads for few days.

Heres a bit of information for our users.
- Some content filters/security firewalls/ whatever crap blocking access to your favorite sites block .info (eg. www.qmoder.info) blindly thinking they are proxies.If that is the case in your area please report back to us.

-Some filters scan the content of the page your visiting for words like proxy myspace orkut etc and blocks it.
In that case use the SSL version of our domain i.e by adding https:// instead of http:// (notice the 's').

-Some hardware level filters or advanced softwares even scan https sites as well. in that try using the tunneling site given below by adding  port number :1234 to the end.

- if nothing works drop us a mail at report@pagemod.com Ill find out some solution.Please remember to tell me your status (a screenshot and your location ,filter name etc will help me more)

and oh btw we have enabled youtube and flash support play your favorite games or watch any videos through our proxies
